Introducing the Spectralis Domain OCT Angiography, the latest non-invasive diagnostic equipment that enables rapid testing and diagnosis. For the convenience of the patients, most of the tests are performed on the same day and the best faculty in Korea are constantly finding ways to improve the vision of their patients, as well as the quality of their lives.
Ophthalmology refers to the medical and surgical field that is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of the retina, vitreous body, uveitis, glaucoma, corneal and vision correction surgery, and strabismus. Meanwhile, pediatric ophthalmology provides specialized treatment, and specialty clinics include laser clinics, vision correction clinics, and strabismus clinics.
Over the years, various advanced diagnostic test equipment have been introduced. In December 2008, Spectralis was introduced for the first time in Korea as the latest retinal diagnostic equipment that combines fluorescein angiography equipment and 4th generation optical coherence tomography equipment. It provides important information in the diagnosis, treatment decision, and treatment outcome determination for various retinal diseases (e.g., diabetic retinopathy).
We are constantly publishing our latest information and findings at conferences, as well as in academic journals in Korea and overseas, with two regular members of The Macular Society, which is the world's leading specialist charitable organization for vision impairment.
The Macular Society has fewer than 400 members worldwide, with only a few regular members of Korean descent. The Department of Ophthalmology at KUMC is doing its best in providing excellent medical care and treatment in Korea.
