The Department of Pathology performs a histopathological examination of the patient's tissue and cell samples by using histological, cytological, and molecular pathological examination techniques in order to provide an accurate diagnosis and classification of diseases. This, in turn, determines the course of treatment. Pathological examinations primarily classified the names of diseases based on previous morphological findings. However, it is currently being developed into a comprehensive diagnosis of the biological, immunological, and molecular genetic characteristics of diseases, as well as modification of patient-specific treatments and prognosis through advancements in medical science and technology.
