The Department of Pediatrics and Adolescents at KUMC is responsible for the welfare of children under 18 years of age.
Here at the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescents, we provide childcare counseling, regular checkups, and vaccinations. We also offer special clinic care for the healthy growth and development of children, as well as treatment for general diseases as a medical and research institute.
In order to provide our patients with excellent medical care, we have active sub-specialty fields, such as pediatric nephrology, neonatal, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric neurology, pediatric pneumology, and pediatric allergology managed by specialists. Furthermore, we operate pediatric nephrology, health care clinic, nocturnal enuresis, high-risk newborn and parenting counseling, growth clinic, obesity clinic, pediatric constipation clinic, congenital heart disease clinic, pediatric epilepsy clinic, and pediatric respiratory system and allergy clinic.
The Department of Pediatrics and Adolescents have 45 pediatric inpatient rooms, neonatal unit, and pediatric ICU. The neonatal unit is currently working with the introduction of the latest equipment for the neonatal intensive care unit, in conjunction with the primary gynecology medical facilities. Furthermore, we are accelerating the introduction of new medical technologies, establishing a consultation system with the surrounding pediatrics, and automating the medical information processing. Our advanced research is mainly focused on molecular biology, and then we apply it to the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.
