As a result of the development of modern medicine brought about by the aging and Westernization of the population, diabetes, chronic kidney failure, and various adult diseases are gradually increasing. This is determined as the main cause of increasing vascular diseases. These diseases mostly affected the legs, the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular vessels, which can cause severe lower extremity amputation, death from cardiac arrest, and stroke.
The goal of the Arm and Leg Vascular Center is to improve the quality of life of the patients by actively treating vascular diseases of the legs and arms.
The main diseases treated by the Arm and Leg Vascular Center, include both upper and lower arteries and veins, especially ischemic diseases caused by the narrowing and obstruction of the lower limb arteries, edema from diabetic foot and phlebothrombosis, varicose veins, and narrowing and blockage of the access path of the dialysis patients.
Arm and Leg Vascular Center provides accurate treatment by looking at the patient’s blood vessel in real time via a penetration device after making an accurate diagnosis with the latest equipment (e.g., ultrasonography, CT, and MRI). The treatment is provided by using a thin conduit with a thickness of approximately 2-3 mm after administering local anesthesia. Unlike the surgery performed with general anesthesia, the elderly patient can be treated with small physical burden on patients, and the pain is reduced with the quick discharge and recovery.
Arm and Leg Vascular Center is composed of specialists in the Department of Plastic Surgery, Department of Nephrology, Department of Radiology, Department of Vascular Surgery, and Department of Thoracic Surgery, who provide the best possible treatment through a close cooperation in accordance with the disease.
