Examination Precautions

Gastroscopy

If you have history of a heart disease or respiratory disease, you must receive
consultation from our medical staff before taking a gastroscopy examination. A UGI
examination may also be considered.

Your doctor may take a biopsy of unusual areas. We may provide the Helicobacter
Pylori test upon the patient’s request. Please note that there is a possibility for
complications to occur after examinations.

Colonoscopy

Your doctor may take a biopsy of unusual tissues during the period of your
examination. A polyp does not always mean cancer, however, there is always the
possibility in which a polyp may lead to cancer. Please note that there is a possibility
for complications to occur after examinations and endoscopic polypectomy.

Sedated Endoscopy

Sedated Endoscopy may be advantageous as it reduces pain and anxiety. Sedation does not mean ‘anesthesia’. You may be conscious
at times during the examination. If sedation is unsuccessful, normal endoscopy may be performed. Please rest well after your
examination.
