Konkuk University Chungju Hospital first opened its medical center in 1990 through the acquisition of Shilla Hospital in Chungju. Our hospital inherited the spirit of late Yoo, Seok Chang who is the founder of "Saheoyoung" medical clinic, the former Konkuk University Hospital established at 1931. He was the true believer that his medicine will help people and ultimately his medicine devote to the development of the society. Konkuk University Chungju Hospital is the sole university hospital placed in the northern Chungchung province of Korea. Our hospital runs 23 medical departments to promote the health of local citizens. Konkuk University Chungju Hospital put its rigorous efforts on training our physicians and nurses through the years. Also we emphasize on research area with our physicians and medical scientists.

As for the size of KUH Chungju, Konkuk University Chungju Hospital opened its closed ward in 1998 with 25 beds in addition to the original facility of Shilla Hospital. In 2002 we newly built another annex hospital with 1 underground floor and 6 stories. In this hospital, there are the funeral, the health promotion center and the center for newborn babies where also treats sick babies with up-to-date equipment. In 2005 we opened the artificial kidney center which is the biggest center in Chungchung area and equipped with the cutting edged facilities.

Konkuk University Chungju Hospital runs special centers for the efficient treatment of our patients. The diabetic center has 40 separate beds. The hospice center, we care cancer patients at its terminal stage. KUCH activates its "Child abuse protection committee" and "Committee for seniors with dementia."

Last year, we adopted all digitalized chart system which shortens your waiting time. This August of 2007, the new building is under construction for its opening. I am very pleased to meet you at more pleasant environment.
